Integrating Library Resources into Blackboard: Databases

Linking to the Databases

1. To find the database (listed alphabetically by title) you would like to link to in your BB site by clicking on the link below:
                 Databases A-Z

Clicking on the down arrow in the "All Subjects" box will give you databases by subjects. You can get all the the databases that pertain to your subject area.

2. Right-click on the database link you are interested in adding to your Bb course. When a menu appears:

  • IE Explorer browser: Left-click on Copy Shortcut.
  • Google Chrome browser: Left-click on Copy link address.
  • Firefox browser: Left-click on Copy Link Location.

4. Paste the URL into your Bb course. The URLs from the database links provided on the library's web site (e.g., Databases A-Z or Databases by Subject) include the proxy server URL prefix so that you and students can access these databases from off-campus.

Important Note:  DO NOT copy and paste any database home page / main search screen URLs from your browser's address bar. These database URLs do not include the proxy server URL prefix.
