Integrating Library Resources into Blackboard: Safari Books



A collection of over 12,000 online full-text books covering a wide variety of technology and business topics including: certification practice exams, databases, desktop applications, e-business, graphics, hardware, Internet, IT management, markup languages, multimedia, networking, operating systems, programming, security, software engineering, web development, Windows, and much more.   1. From the Safari Books search results screen, click on the book cover or title you are interested in linking from your Bb course.

  1. When the Start Reading Online screen appears for the book, highlight, copy, and paste the URL in your browser address bar into your Bb course.


  1. Add the following URL prefix in front of the Safari Books URL:  

Your final URL should look something like this - click on the url below to go to the book:

Note: If you access the database from off campus, the URL may already contain the proxy info. Look for in the URL
