As the semester winds down, it’s time to return those library books and other items! Be sure to stay up-to-date on TCC Libraries hours.  Here’s a quick checklist:

  1. Review your Library Account
Use the MY Account Link under the Library Catalog search on the Library homepage, or call your campus library.

  2. Return overdue items or items no longer needed
If continuing to the Fall semester, renew items that are eligible.

  3. Enjoy your Summer Break!
By reviewing your account and returning/renewing items before the break, you won't have to worry about these items!

Reminder: Library hours vary during intersession (August 4th-22nd), please see hours for more information. Book drops are available for material return during that time.  https://libguides.tcc.edu/libhours

magician with magic hat, with phrase dark side of plagiarismTCC defines plagiarism as “presenting within one’s own work the ideas, representations, or words of another person or artificial intelligence, without customary and proper acknowledgement of that person’s authorship.” Students who are unsure of what constitutes plagiarism should consult with a writing tutor or their instructor. (TCC Student Code of Conduct).

Think of plagiarism as that crafty goblin who tries to steal your hard-earned gold (aka your ideas)!  Not cool, right? 😱  Visit the TCC Libraries Citing Research Guide for more information!

🔍 Why Avoid Plagiarism?

Protect Your Reputation: Nobody wants to be known as the villain of the story. Plagiarism can lead to serious consequences, affecting your grades and academic integrity.

Show Off Your Skills: Your unique insights and perspectives are what make your work shine. Embrace your creativity! 🌟

Build Trust: Crediting sources builds your credibility and shows you’ve done your homework (literally!).

Who says summer study plans have to be boring? With your library’s resources, you can ace your summer work while having fun. Here’s how:

  1. Go Digital: Skip the heavy books! Your library’s eBooks and journals are available 24/7—study in your pajamas or by the pool!

  2. Find Your Chill Spot: Need peace and quiet or a cozy spot to study? Your library has it all—inside or even outdoors in the sunshine!

  3. Unlock Secret Resources: Research databases are like treasure chests filled with gold (aka academic articles and journals). Dig in!

  4. Join a Virtual Workshop: Sharpen your study skills with fun, online workshops from your library. They’ll help you work smarter, not harder.

  5. Borrow from Everywhere: Need that one elusive book? Use interlibrary loans to get anything you need from libraries all over!
