About Database Trials
TCC Libraries periodically provides trial access to new databases and research tools so the campus community can evaluate their usefulness in supporting teaching, learning, and program development across all Pathways. These trials give faculty, staff, and students the opportunity to explore the scope and quality of a resource, test its features, and see how well it integrates with coursework, classroom activities, or independent research.
Trial periods also allow the library to assess how a resource aligns with curriculum needs, complements our existing collections, and supports emerging program areas or accreditation requirements. By using the tools in real academic contexts—such as assignments, lesson planning, or instructional demonstrations, users help us understand whether a database provides meaningful value for TCC.
We encourage everyone to experiment freely with the trial resources and share detailed feedback on usability, content relevance, and overall impact on teaching and learning. Your input plays a critical role in determining whether a tool should be added to the library’s permanent collection and made available to the entire campus community.
