TCC Libraries & Tutoring are delighted to recognize our faculty receiving VIVA Open Adopt Grants this semester:

  • Judy Crouchman is adopting “Introduction to Art” as the textbook for Art 100: Art Appreciation, which is projected to impact 900 students over the next 5 years, saving $152,991.
  • Ratanmani Joshi is adopting “OpenStax Organic Chemistry” as the textbook for CHM 241 and 242: Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, which is projected to impact 625 students over the next 5 years, saving $102,500.
  • Corina Ladd is adopting “International Relations” as the textbook for PLS 241: Introduction to International Relations, which is projected to impact 100 students over the next 5 years, saving $9,500.

The VIVA Open Adopt Grant program provides support for the time it takes to integrate existing open or no-cost materials into a syllabus and to ensure that the results of those efforts are available to Virginia educators. VIVA’s Open Adopt Grants are open to individual faculty instructors looking to adopt existing OER yearly each Fall.

If you have questions about VIVA grants or adopting OER for your courses, please contact your TCC Librarian.
