Books and DVDs may be renewed once as long as they are not overdue and have not been placed on hold by another patron.
Course reserves are a collection of items (ex. Textbooks, photocopies, etc.) selected by faculty that are available to TCC students for use for a limited amount of time. Students should ask for assistance at the circulation desk.
Intercampus loan is the process whereby one TCC library lends materials to another TCC library. A TCC library card is required to request an intercampus loan. Materials are usually received by the requesting library within 3 days and can be picked up at the Circulation Desk. The patron will receive an email when the item has been requested and when it is available for pickup.
Public and community patrons (including VTC and VIVA) must request materials from a staff member either in person or over the phone. Use the Library Hours link below to get contact information for each campus.
TCC students, faculty, and staff can request circulating materials to be sent between campuses using the library catalog.
Do you want a book or article that TCC doesn't have? These items can often be borrowed from other libraries through the interlibrary loan system. This service is available to current Tidewater Community College students, faculty, and staff. Public and community patrons (including VTC and VIVA) may request interlibrary loan services through their public or academic libraries.
Students receive 100 free pages of printing for each semester that they are enrolled in classes. After 100 pages, printing costs 5 cents per page, and students must add money to their StormCard account (TCC ID) in order to continue printing. Unused pages expire at the end of each semester.
Community Patron must purchase a Total Convenience Card for $1.00 from the StormPort machine. Add a minimum of $1.00 to pay for prints. Printing costs $.05 per page. For more information about print management, click on the Print Management link below.
Black-and-white photocopies cost $.10 per page. At this time, photocopiers only accept change and cash.
Scanning is free. Files can be saved to a USB flash drive.
There are several free online fax programs that will allow you to send scanned files to a recipient's fax machine using a lab computer.
