Phone Features
Transfer a Call
- Press the soft key trnsfer.
- When you hear a new dial tone, dial the number you wish to transfer the call to.
- It is proper phone etiquette to advise the new party that you are transferring a call to them.
- Press the soft key trnsfer button a second time.
Ad-hoc Conference Call
An ad-hoc conference can be a maximum of 4 parties including yourself.
- Dial the first party.
- Once party answers, press the soft key "More".
- Press soft key "Confrn". You will hear new dial tone.
- Dial the next party.
- Press the conference key again.
- To add a third party, repeat steps 2 through 5.
Corporate Directory
The IP phone corporate directory provides quick access to telephone numbers of college personnel. You can search by last name or first name and connect with a push of a button.
- Press "Directories" button.
- Use the Scroll key to select Corporate Directory.
- Press Select soft key.
- Use the scroll key to search on last name, first name, or phone number.
- Use the number pad to select letters and scroll key to select employee.
- Press Dial soft key to dial number.
Dial In-State Long Distance
If you are dialing a long distance number to other Virginia state agencies, you can dial for free by using this feature.
- Dial 8.
- Wait for second dial tone.
- Dial 10 digit telephone number. It is not necessary to dial "1".
Voicemail Features
Accessing Voicemail (off-campus)
If you are out of the office and would like to check your voicemail from off campus follow these instructions:
- Dial 822-1999
- Press the * key (star key)
- Enter your ID (telephone extension)
- Press the # key (pound key)
- Enter your password: 5236 (This is the initial password. You will be required to change it.)
- Press the # key (pound key)
Accessing Voicemail (on-campus)
Checking Messages at your desk:
- Press the messages button on your phone.
- Enter your password: 5236 (This is the initial password. You will be required to change it.) Enroll, if needed.
- Press 1 to hear a new message.
- Press 3 to hear a saved message.
- Press 7 to delete a message.
Checking messages from another Cisco phone
- Dial 2-1999.
- Press the * key (star key).
- Enter your ID (telephone extension).
- Press the # key (pound key).
- Enter your password: 5236 (This is the initial password. You will be required to change it.)
- Press the # key (pound key).
Change/Create Greeting
- Pickup your handset and press the Message Button
- Enter your extension and password and #
- Press “5” for set up options
- Press “1” for greetings
- Press “1” to record greeting
- Press "2" to turn on/off alternate greeting
- Press "3" to edit other greetings
- Press "4" to hear all greetings
